The Vauxhall PA Cresta and Velox

The Vauxhall PA Cresta and Velox, what's there to say?  These, at the time, radical and glamorous cars revolutionized the roads of Britain when they were announced in the fall of 1957 as 1958 models.  Vauxhall had given the motoring public of Britain a taste of what was to come with the F-Series Victor of 1957, but the Velox and the fancier, glamorous Cresta nearly turned the roads of Britain upside down.

The PAs had wild "transatlantic" styling, sweeping expanses of chrome, a wrap-around windscreen, tailfins and to bring it all together they were avilable in wild and exciting colours, pink, bright red, lime green, these cars truly brought a new age of style to the roads of Britain and parked next to a typical British saloon of the late 1950s they must have looked looked like spaceships.

Do you own a PA?  Do you have articles you can write for the site?  If so, please get in touch, the more information that I can gather and put online, the better.

About Me

My name is Bill and I live in New Jersey, right outside of New York City in America.  I am the custodian of 2 PAs, a 1960 Velox and a 1962 Velox.  Currently the 1960, which is pictured above, is being recommissioned for the road, and this winter will get a new paint job and body damage repaired.  The 1962 is a project car and is going to receive a later 3.3L PC Engine.  Both of my cars originally hail from Canada, the '60 from Ontario and while I bought the '62 out of Ottawa, it's originally from Victoria Island, British Columbia and, for a PA, is rather solid.  Both cars are LHD.
